Melissa (Missy) Riley was born and raised in North Chicago, Illinois, a city where survival was often the ultimate teacher rather than the pursuit of greatness. But Missy is living proof that your past does not define your future.

She is a woman who doesn’t look like what she’s been through. A woman who has discovered her purpose and is determined to walk boldly in it not just for herself, but for every woman she encounters.

Missy is known for her ability to empower, inspire, motivate, elevate, and celebrate others. But she didn’t always stand in her power.

There were times when she had to speak life into herself during her darkest moments

• Talked about.

• Lied on.

• Cheated on.

• Stolen from.

• Grieving lost loved ones.

• Battling self-esteem issues.

You know those moments, the ones we’ve all faced at some point. But Missy made a decision.

She chose to rise.

Though she is not perfect, she is:

DETERMINED. DEDICATED. WILLING to do it GOD’S WAY to create a MAJOR IMPACT and leave a LEGACY.

That impact is now being carried out through Letters2MySis (L2MS), a nonprofit organization committed to empowering women and girls through community programs, mentorship, and support initiatives that foster unity and personal growth.

L2MS is more than just a movement it’s a safe space, a sisterhood, and a reminder that no woman is alone on her journey.

As part of this mission, Letters2MySis apparel serves as an extension of the message, a way to wear your power and remind yourself and others of their strength.

Because the truth is, people search for signs every day. And sometimes, simply seeing an empowering message on a tee, hoodie, or sweatshirt could be the very thing that gives someone the encouragement to keep going.
